We’ve heard about the “death of the high street” for a long time. But as the UK’s non-essential physical stores reopen after coronavirus lockdown, it’s clear that physical retail isn’t dead. Nor is the high street for that matter. In fact, there could be a bright future for high streets. So, in this episode, Oliver Banks is joined by two place experts, Clare Bailey, the Retail Champion, and Roger Smith, the founder of insight agency, Grounded. Together, they explore the opportunities retailers, towns and cities have with physical places. The future of the high street is exciting and will be critical for a successful future of physical retail.

Listen to this episode to discover:

  • Is there a future for physical places (hint, yes) and what are the key elements.
  • Is there a difference between high streets, shopping centres and malls, out of town retail parks?
  • How can relevant parties play a part?
